Summary
As a member of the technical staff, the Sr. Electrical Engineer - Systems is responsible for the development
of cutting edge complete robotic solutions for logistics and e-commerce applications. Sr. Engineers take on technical leadership, owning tasks, driving programs, ensuring they meet requirements and complete on time. They can work across disciplines to solve complex problems.
Essential Functions

- Conceptualize, design, simulate, program, test, and demonstrate production robotic system
- Develop manufacturing processes for electro-mechanical components
- Create, innovate, and invent new/better automation products/solutions for material handling
- Produce design documents, assembly/work instructions, and bill of materials
- Assist product management in generating product requirements
- Support product management in customer discovery calls as a subject matter expert
- Communicate and commit to technical, budgetary, and schedule information to product managers
- Periodically travel to customer sites to deploy and support proof of concept systems
- Compose/present technical communication with/for colleagues
- Diagnose and isolate root causes for both hardware and software
- Mentor junior staff

Required Education and Experience
- Bachelors/Masters in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- 8 years' work experience designing and building electro-mechanical systems
- Programming (one or more of the following): C++, Python, Java, Ladder Logic
- Electrical Design Tools (one or more of the following): AutoCAD Electrical, ECAD
- Device networking: device network configuration, network troubleshooting
- Electrical/Electronics: Wiring components, Review electrical schematics
Preferred Education and Experience
Experience with any of the following:
- 10+ years’ work experience designing and building electro-mechanical systems
- 3+ years’ experience in logistics or ecommerce applications
- 3+ years’ experience managing small teams
- Experience taking product from concept to prorudtion.
- Experience with common communication devices: Fieldbus, Discrete IO, etc.
- Familiarity with industrial controls: motor drives, relay logic, PLCs
- Familiarity with industrial standards: NFP70, ANSI/RIA 15.06, ISO 10218, etc
- Tools: Windows, Linux (Ubuntu), ROS-I/ROS, GIT, Solidworks
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position may have some supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, cameras, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. This position will also have occasional work in the warehouse, either in our facility or our customer's. While performing the duties of this job, the engineer may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.

Full time, 40 hours/week between M-F, 9:00am-6:00pm, in San Antonio, TX
