Job Description:

The Sr. Corporate Accountant is responsible for managing core accounting functions, preparing accurate financial statements, supporting month-end and year-end close processes, and ensuring compliance with GAAP and internal controls. This role partners closely with finance, operations, and leadership to provide timely financial reporting, account analysis, reconciliations, and process improvements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
  • Work with Accounting Manager to prepare financial statements and internal management reports.
  • Review accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, accruals, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and intercompany transactions as needed.
  • Lead or support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities.
  • Analyze balance sheet and income statement accounts for accuracy and completeness.
  • Maintain the general ledger and ensure transactions are recorded in accordance with GAAP.
  • Support external audits by preparing schedules, responding to auditor requests, and maintaining documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with company accounting policies, internal controls, and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting accuracy, and close efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Experience with month-end close, reconciliations, journal entries, and general ledger accounting.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency with accounting systems and ERP platforms such as Workday, NetSuite, Sage Intacct, QuickBooks, Oracle, or SAP.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and financial analysis.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Public accounting experience a plus.
  • Familiarity with US GAAP and common accounting standards such as ASC 606, ASC 842, fixed assets, consolidations, and multi-entity accounting.
  • CPA or CPA candidate preferred.
  • Experience in SaaS, technology, professional services, manufacturing, real estate, or another industry-specific environment.
  • Experience improving close processes, automating workflows, or implementing accounting systems.

Work Location & Flexibility

This position can be located remotely however if the candidate is based in our Minneapolis or New York City locations the office follows a hybrid work model. Employees in these locations are expected to work on-site a minimum of two days per week. Please note that specific business units or role requirements may necessitate additional in-office days based on team collaboration needs or operational priorities.

The base salary range represents the estimated low and high end for this position based on a good faith assessment of the role and market data at the time of posting. Consistent with applicable law, each candidate’s compensation offer may vary and will be determined based on but not limited to, your geographic region, skills, qualifications, and experience along with the requirements of the position. This position may be eligible for bonuses, commissions, or overtime if applicable. Benefits include health insurance (medical, dental, vision), a retirement savings plan, paid time off, and other employee benefits. Specific details will be provided during the interview process.
